Saltfleetby

Gas Field

The field was discovered in 1996 and brought into production in December 1999, producing natural gas and gas condensate from Westphalian and Namurian reservoirs.

Saltfleetby is the largest onshore gas field in the UK. The field had produced 68 bcf of the original 114 bcf of gas originally in place when it was shut down in 2018. Angus restarted production in August 2022 and plans to recover at least 25 bcf more gas by the late 2030s.

Saltfleetby is currently producing 80% of the UK’s onshore gas production.
